SMTP or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is the configuration of
the outgoing mail server. This set of communication guidelines allows the email
server to transmit the email over the Internet. Most email software uses SMTP
for communication purposes. And for the configuration of the incoming email,
there are two protocols called POP3 and IMAP. Email needs both protocol settings
to send and receive emails easily. Yahoo SMTP settings to send emails to any

To download the email from the Yahoo mail server to your
system's email program, you must configure the IMAP protocol. Here are the IMAP
settings for Yahoo email:
• Yahoo! IMAP mail server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
• IMAP port: 993
• IMAP TLS / SSL: yes
• IMAP username: your full Yahoo! Email
• IMAP Password: Your Yahoo! Email password
• Yahoo! SMTP mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• SMTP port: 465 (you can try 587 as an alternative)
• SMTP TLS / SSL: yes
• SMTP username: your complete Yahoo! Email
• SMTP Password: your Yahoo! Email password
You can simply download your email to the Yahoo account using
the POP protocol. Here is the configuration of the POP configuration for Yahoo
email.
• Yahoo! POP mail server address: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (or
pop.mail.yahoo.com)
• Yahoo! POP mail username: Your Yahoo! Email username (if
your Yahoo! email address is john@yahoo.com, for example, the username is John;
alternatively, you can try your full Yahoo! email address including "@
yahoo.com ")
• Yahoo! POP email password: your Yahoo! Email password
• Yahoo! POP mail port: 995
• Yahoo! POP TLS / SSL mail is required: yes
To interrupt POP access, you must simply remove the POP settings
from your Yahoo account.
